Christmas Films You Have to Watch This Year

The holiday season is upon us and we all know what that means: Christmas movies!!

We get how overwhelming it is when you’ve got your hot chocolate ready, and your feet wrapped in your blanket yet you’re been scrolling for like 10 minutes through every streaming site and channel you have and you can’t think of anything to watch.

Well, look no further because we have done the tough part for you. So, sit back and top up your hot chocolate with more marshmallows because here is a list of Christmas films you need to watch.

 1. Jack Frost

A Christmas film has no business being this sad, yet Christmas just don’t feel like the Christmas without this one.

I don’t want to spoil it too much for you (in case you haven’t watched it) but it’s about boy who loves his dad then something really sad happens and there’s a snowman that can talk. Like I said, no spoilers.

As much as it will have you sobbing, it will leave a warm feeling in you too.

2. Love Hard

This is a new one but it’s definitely worth the watch. It’s got Nina Dobrev in it and Darren Charles Barnet (the hot guy from Never Have I Ever).

It’s about a girl who flies to another part of America to meet the guy she’s talking to online only to find that she’s been catfished. However, her catfish is actually kinda sweet and he offers to introduce her to the guy who’s pictures he’s been using.

It’s funny and cheesy but it’s definitely a must-watch like come on Paxton and Elena in one film??

3. Elf

Does this need an introduction? I feel like we’ve all watched this in school on the last week of term before the Christmas holidays began (I miss Christmas as a non-adult).

It’s about a man that thinks he’s an Elf. Like I said, I don’t need to say much about it as you’ve probably already watched it, but you need to watch it again this year because Christmas without Elf is like Easter with no chocolate.

4. Home Alone

All of them! I don’t know which one I like the most so I will say all of them! The one where they’ve gone to Paris? Amazing. The one where he’s sick at home? Piece of art.

There’s loads to pick from so when in doubt, Home Alone is the one.

5. This Christmas

Last but definitely not the least: This Christmas. I feel like this one is an underdog which doesn’t make sense because it’s so good!!

It’s got baby Chris Brown in it (whose name is Baby in the film, coincidentally) and Idris Elba who plays his big brother. Aren’t they two good enough reason to watch?

Well, I’ll try to convince you further anyways.

It’s got Loretta Devine in it too! Who plays the role of the mother, or “Ma’Dere” of the Whitefield family, made up of 6 siblings, a cousin and a few in-laws, who are trying to get through the struggles of adulthood, single life, struggling marriages and broken families in one Christmas.

It’s honestly a classic. It will make you thankful for the people you are spending this festive season with. Also, it’s got Idris Elba.

I hope you enjoy your movie marathon. Thank me later x
